Action of Immediate Witness: A Call to Represent UUFE at Delaney Hall
Unitarian Universalists were called during the UU General Assembly on Sunday, June 14, 2026, to join a diverse coalition of community partners in a protest at Delaney Hall, an ICE detention center, in Newark, NJ on Monday July 13, 2026, noon – 6 pm
In May, more than 300 people being detained at Delaney Hall launched a hunger and labor strike. The strike has spread, so that nearly 1,000 people held captive by ICE are on hunger strike in at least seven facilities to protest cruelty and retaliation, including reports of assault, unsafe food and water, illegal detention, medical neglect and abuse, forced labor, and more.
UUFE’s presence on July 13th will show that we stand in authentic solidarity with those on hunger strike, their families, and their supporters. If enough of you join us, we’ll rent a van for the day.
