Rev. Chris J. Antal has been our minister since August of 2025. He is passionate about creating sanctuary spaces that are safe and welcoming of all people, and building communities that nurture spiritual health, moral engagement, and prophetic witness.

Rev. Antal is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association, in full fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Chris was ordained by the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany, New York in 2011. Prior to ordination, Chris was mentored by Rev. Kay Greenleaf in Poughkeepsie, New York, and Rev. Sam Trumbore in Albany.  Following ordination, Rev. Antal served for a decade as the contract and then called minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern, New York.

Rev. Antal also has ecclesiastical endorsement from the UUA to serve as a federal chaplain, and served as an Army chaplain in Afghanistan (2012-2013) and, since 2015, as a hospital chaplain in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Chris and his wife XingQin Feng have a residence in Oxford and they enjoy spending time on the Eastern Shore birdwatching, cycling, and kayaking. Chris is also known as dad to his five adult children and enjoys hanging out with them whenever they can fit him into their schedule.
