Opportunities To Serve With Us

We are all responsible for welcoming newcomers, greeting each other and assisting when one of us needs help. We need to feel this is our home and this is where we belong. Member Services is the committee that helps to make this happen!

We have many activities that may fit your interests, some are long-term, some are one-time events. Here are just a few suggestions:

  • Greeting ? we have two Greeters who welcome everyone each Sunday and follow up with visitors. Sign up for just one Sunday or a regular schedule. Every time you greet someone you get greeted in return!
  • Potlucks ? we have about three potlucks a year, each with a different theme. This could be a one-time commitment and doesn?t require much planning.
  • Assist with memorial/funeral services ? help with food planning and other duties as needed by the family.
  • Memorial Flowers ? coordinator needed for a new program that allows people to bring flowers to the service to acknowledge someone special. This is set up to run itself with very little coordination needed.
  • Intro to UU Class ? do you have any interest in history, or in moderating a brief discussion? Would you like to assist with this very short class?

Why We Serve

Helping new comers and longer term members feel part of our congregation is at the core of creating beloved community.?A large portion of congregants identify “community” as a primary factor in joining, staying, and participating in a congregation.? Member Services Committee members serve on the committee as a spiritual practice.
