Working for Social Justice
Through the Social Justice Committee, UUFE is involved in numerous projects aimed at promoting social justice in the community and in the world at large.
The UUFE Social Justice Circle strives to bring social justice to the Mid-Shore. To achieve that, they work to develop relationships with local organizations such as the Talbot Interfaith Shelter, the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, CarePacks, Move the Monument, For All Seasons and many more. The Social Justice Circle helps to bring UUFE congregants together to support those organizations with volunteer resources as well as financial support.
In Spring of 2022, the Social Justice team fielded a survey of the UUFE congregation. Click here to see the results.
This short video, created and narrated by UUFE’s Tom Arnold, describes the work of CarePacks of Talbot County, a weekend food program aimed at preventing hunger among Talbot County’s most economically vulnerable students.
