Caring Circle Job Description
- Ensure that Members and Friends are aware of the Caring Circle’s mission.
- Post messages in the Newsletter, in the U.U.F.E.’s building and/or in Friday e-mail batch.
- Make pulpit announcements if necessary
- Create a brochure handout explaining the C.C. and its mission.
- Survey and create list of Members and Friends willing to offer help.
- Take notes during Joys and Concerns, or assign someone, and share the notes with all Caring Circle Coordinators and with the Minister.
- Maintain close contact with the Minister concerning those in need.
- Always maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain close contact with Member Services Committee:
- Keep updated on new Members and Friends
- Ensure that new Members and Friends know about the Caring Circle, and suggest a C.C. Coordinator attend the Intro to U.U. classes to explain our mission and to get to know potential new Members and Friends.
- Give potential new Members and Friends a C. C. brochure.
- When a situation arises, do our best to arrange help needed for our Members and Friends.
- Provide either a written note, e-mail, phone call or a visit in behalf of the Fellowship to Members and Friends when we learn of their difficult situation to express our desire to assist if they are in need.
- Coordinate with person in need and their family for the assistance needed.
- Contact Minister about the concern.
- Contact UUFE Members and Friends who previously agreed to volunteer their assistance.
- Offer the Caring Quilt to those who may find comfort in it.
- If a need arises which is beyond our capability, try to help by connecting the individual with local agencies that could be of help. April 2014
