About UUFE Peace Camp

Peace Camp began at UUFE in 2014 after several members of the Religious Education committee spent an evening in training with M.J. and Jerry Park.   The Parks have spent over 35 years running peace programs for children and adults through their organization Little Friends for Peace.   UUFE has adopted many curriculum ideas from the Parks, and we reference several of their self-published resource books that are full of games, songs, and discussion starters

Playing collaborative games, practicing yoga and meditation, singing the refrains of fun and meaningful songs, and creating art projects that are beautiful, practical, and intentional are all part of our daily agenda at Peace Camp. We eat healthy snacks together and take time to enjoy free time with friends new and old. In all of our activities, we attempt to focus on ways in which children can think about themselves as peacemakers and learn from other peacemakers in the world.

  1. My church would like to start a peace camp for all children, not just members of our (UCC) church. Do you have a curriculum guide we could look at?
