The first ever Delmarva Cluster of UU Congregations Retreat
October 2-4th at Camp Tockwogh in Worton, MD
Just think how much fun it could be if you and your UUFE friends spent a weekend away, at camp. You can bond while engaging in sports activities, on a walk, stargazing, doing yoga, or singing in the choir with Maureen Curtin Director. If you don’t feel like being physically active there will be seated activities and a designated space, called the “Coffee House, for relaxed conversation, snacks and beverages. You’ll have the opportunity to know our UU neighbors, too.
Rev. David Pyle will lead the service on Sunday and some of the ministers from our neighboring congregations may participate. Rev. Sue and her husband, Bill, will be spending the weekend at camp. The Choir Directors from each of the Delmarva UU congregations will be teaching their choirs a common set of music and those who want to “drop in” to the choir can learn the music on Saturday and sing on Sunday.
There are three housing options: Stewart Lodge-has three sleeping areas with 8-9 beds and a bathroom with toilets and shower stalls. The conference room will be the site of some of our activities. Navaho Cottages-have a small sitting area with couch and fireplace and three bedrooms each with three beds and a private bathroom. Tents-You are welcome to bring your own tent which will be located near Stewart Lodge or Navaho Cottages. Bathroom facilities will be provided in these buildings.
The schedule: Check-in runs from 6-8PM on Friday evening followed by a campfire with smores, music, and games. At 10:30 a “Quiet Campfire” will provide some soothing moments before bed. Dinner will not be provided that evening. On Saturday, breakfast will be served at 8:00 followed by UU Activities and Games. From 10:00-12:00 will be free time to engage in Tockwogh activities (ropes course, climbing wall, archery, waterfront activities, etc.), decorate T-shirts, “Witnessing Our Faith” workshop, or Coffee House. Lunch is at noon followed by Free Time for Tockwogh Activities, Cluster Choir rehearsal, and yoga. Dinner will be at 5:00. At 6:00 will be a sunset walk, then at 7:30 you can join in folk dancing. At 9:00 have fun with stargazing and “Quiet Campfire” at 10:30. Wake up with a smile on your face after such a fun Saturday for breakfast at 8:00 followed by the worship service at 9:30 with the Cluster Choir singing. After the service you will have free time with Tockwogh Activities and yoga. At noon will be the Closing Circle and farewell snacks.
